Instructional Services Offered:
We offer the following trainings designed to meet
Federal and State regulatory requirements:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
The student will demonstrate proper chest compressions, secure open airway and provide rescue breaths.
Artificial External Defibrillation (AED)
The student will demonstrate the use of an AED to revive a person from a sudden cardiac arrest.
First Aid
The student will demonstrate basic medical care to someone with a sudden injury or illness.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
The student will learn to recognize signs of sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke and foreign body obstruction demonstrated performance by Two Rescuer BLS, CPR, AED, and Ambu Bag.
Relief of Foreign Body Obstruction (FBAO)
The student will demonstrate the Heimlich Maneuver on a conscious person and abdominal thrusts on an unconscious person.
Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)
Training specifically for babysitters, daycare and head start providers. The babysitting, daycare, and preschool staff will learn Child and Babysitting safety skills.
Bilingual instruction in English and Spanish is available.
History and Overview
First Response Instructional Services (FRIS) was established in 1995 and has been providing instructional services to the 10 counties in Southern California. The administrative office is based in the San Gabriel Valley and the training services are mobile to meet the training needs in the customers’ workplace.
FRIS is a fully certified Training Center and all of the instructors are certified through HSI (the Health & Safety Institute), a nationally accredited training organization adhering to Federal guidelines and accepted by Cal OSHA.
FRIS’ Certification courses are designed to improve any person’s ability to help adults, children and infants in need during many emergency situations.
